It’s Norway at the helm for our next guest mix, and one of scando-space-disco’s founding fathers, DJ Strangefruit, aka Pål Nyhus. Pål is probably better known as one half of the leftfield disco production duo, Mongolian Jetset; their music is ace, but if jaunty disco is not your thing, their song titles alone are worthy of your time! Long before his career in music production, Pal was renowned for hosting a weekly radio show in the late 90’, which led Prins Thomas to proclaiming him as “one of the Kings of Norway” in terms of the music scene. The aforementioned weekly radio shows – playing dub, disco, techno, house and everything in between – were apparently a huge influence on the likes of Prins, Todd Terje and Lindstrom et al. The mix here however, takes a more ambient route, and very enjoyable it is too.
