An introduction, please … who are you, where are you, and what pays the bills?

I am Kev, i play synthesizers in Mildlife, I am in Melbourne, Australia.

Where was the mix recorded, and what is the inspiration behind it?

The mix was recorded at my home in Melbourne. It is a collection of electronic pop and jazz funk that I have been listening to recently.

Strictly vinyl? Strictly digital? Couldn’t care less?

This mix includes both, but we don’t discriminate.

‘Balearic’, seems to be a somewhat overused term these days, but if you had to – and we are asking you to – describe the essence of ‘Balearic’ in one record?

Jean-Luc Ponty – Computer Incantations for World Peace

Favourite place you’ve travelled to? And why?

Last year we were invited by Giles Peterson to perform at the Ricci Weekender in Catania, Sicily. We stuck around all weekend drinking wine and eating arancini. It was there that we met Daniele Baldelli, who just remixed our latest single.

Sunset or Sunrise? And the best place to experience it?

Both, at Meredith, which is a town about 2 hours out of Melbourne that hosts 2 very excellent music festivals every year.

Most embarrassing record(s) you’ve bought? Most expensive? And your best bargain bin finds you’ve dug out over the years?

Embarrassing: John Farnham – Age of Reason

Expensive: Manuel Göttsching – E2-E4

Bargain Bin: Escape From New York – Save Our Love ($2)

Favourite DJ you’ve heard play out over the years?

A lot to choose from, but one that has stuck in mine and the bands collective memory was Antal & Hunee at a festival called Strawberry Fields a few hours north of Melbourne. Particularly when they dropped this.

Anything else we should know about you or what you are up to … and do you have a track listing for the mix you provided?

We recently released a new 12″, and made a film clip for it that we are pretty proud of, you can check it out here. And buy it here (EU) or here (everywhere else)

We have just got home from a big chunk of touring, first over in the EU and then around Australia with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, so now we are locking ourselves in our studio for the rest of this year to finish Album 2.
