An introduction, please … who are you, where are you, and what pays the bills?

Hi I’m Basso, sitting behind the dyke south of Hamburg. I’m running a label, an online record store and occasionally travel to play out music.

Where was the mix recorded, and what is the inspiration behind it?

I’ve recorded in my studio, in the heat, under the roof, trying to clam down my temper triggered by the heat wave.

Strictly vinyl? Strictly digital? Couldn’t care less?

I actually don’t care so much any more. But I prefer to play records if the situation allows it. One digital promo in there.

‘Balearic’, seems to be a somewhat overused term these days, but if you had to – and we are asking you to – describe the essence of ‘Balearic’ in one record?
